1 dead after vehicle crashes into medical center off I-10 in east El Paso

EL PASO, TX — One person died late Sunday morning after a vehicle slammed into a medical center off Interstate 10 in east El Paso, according to El Paso Times.

El Paso Police were called to the scene at Texas Oncology, a cancer treatment center located at 7848 Gateway Boulevard East. The crash was first reported at 11:40 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the wreck, but authorities said a vehicle traveled off the interstate and crashed into the building occupied by the business.

One person was pronounced deceased. At this time, police have not said whether that person was an occupant of the vehicle, or of the building.

The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigators (STI) were handling the case.

All eastbound lanes at Hawkins Boulevard were shut down during the response and investigation.
