1 hospitalized after car flips into canal off Loop 375 in east El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to KTSM, one person was injured early Tuesday when a vehicle crashed into a canal along Texas State Loop 375 in El Paso’s Lower Valley.

El Paso Fire Department crews responded to the scene off highway (Cesar E. Chavez Border Highway) at Exit 53 to Midway Drive. Dispatchers first received the call at about 12:45 a.m.

Few details have been provided at this time, but a white, late-model Ford Mustang Mach-e appeared to travel off the roadway and flip upside-down into the canal.

One person suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Photos taken at the scene show crews working to remove the vehicle, which had become partially submerged in water.
