1 injured in multi-vehicle wreck on I-10 near The University of Texas at El Paso

EL PASO, TX — One person was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 10 in El Paso’s Upper Valley, reports KTSM.

The accident happened on the westbound interstate at Exit 18A to West Schuster Avenue, just south of the university.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but El Paso Police said three vehicles, including a semi, were involved. Serious damage to the semi was observed at the scene.

El Paso Fire crews confirmed at least one patient was transported to an area hospital. The extent of the victim’s injuries remains undisclosed.

All westbound lanes in the area were blocked during the response, forcing commuters to divert at the Schuster exit.
