EL PASO, TX — According to KVIA, one person died early Monday after a single-vehicle wreck that hurt several others in El Paso’s Upper Valley.
The accident happened near Artcraft Road and Upper Valley Road, in the city’s Valley Creek North neighborhood, at about 5:30 a.m.
Few details have been provided at this time, but El Paso Police said an SUV left the roadway and dropped into an irrigation ditch.
El Paso Fire and water rescue crews worked to remove eight people from the ditch.
One person was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed officials.
One victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Six others were also transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
No further information has been shared at this time, but the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigators (STI) were handling the case.
