1 taken to hospital after crash near east El Paso travel center

EL PASO, TX — According to KFOX14, one person was seriously hurt Thursday night as a result of a collision off Interstate 1o in far east El Paso.

Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in the 1350 block of Horizon Boulevard, just east of the highway. The crash was reported shortly after 10:00 p.m.

It was unclear what caused the accident, but one person suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.

A portion of Horizon Boulevard between Peyton Road and Ellsworth Drive was closed during the response.

All northbound and southbound traffic was diverted away from the scene. The road remained blocked for multiple hours into the following morning.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the accident had cleared by 6:07 a.m.
