2 sent to hospital after officer-involved crash in NE El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to KVIA, two people were injured in a collision early Sunday morning involving an EPPD officer in northeast El Paso.

El Paso Police Department responded to the scene at Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive and Rushing Road. It was first reported shortly after 2:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains unclear, but two patients were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officials have not confirmed whether one of the patients was the officer. It was unclear whether the officer had been on-duty at the time of the accident.

No further updates have been shared as of this writing.

The department’s Special Traffic Investigators were leading an investigation.
