3 killed in car vs. pickup truck crash near Horizon City

EL PASO COUNTY, TX — Three people died early Monday after their car collided head-on with a pickup truck near Horizon City, according to El Paso Times.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal wreck occurred in the 1600 block of Ascencion Street in far east El Paso at around 12:00 a.m.

Few details have been shared, but authorities said all three victims, aged 18 to 20, were traveling in a Nissan Sentra when it was involved in a crash with a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

All three occupants in the Nissan died as a result of their injuries.

The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

A section of the road was closed during the response and investigation but was expected to reopen by 12:00 p.m.

An investigation remains ongoing.
