EL PASO, TX — A vehicle wreck last Friday night closed all eastbound lanes and multiple ramps on Interstate 10 in central El Paso, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
The collision took place near North Cotton Street, in the city’s Magoffin area. It was first reported by TxDOT at 8:19 p.m.
Officials did not say what caused the accident or how many vehicles were involved, but a traffic backup had stretched down to Schuster Avenue at the time of the report.
By 8:40 p.m., the free had completely shut down, impacting the ramps at Porfirio Diaz, Kansas, and Franklin.
All eastbound traffic was diverted to Spur 1966, Loop 375, and Paisano.

By 3:33 a.m., nearly seven hours later, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to normal traffic.
