Crash shuts down I-10 EB for hours near El Paso’s Lower Valley

EL PASO, TX — According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a collision Monday morning blocked all eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in El Paso’s Lower Valley.

The accident impacted the eastbound interstate at Eastlake Boulevard, near the TxDOT El Paso District Headquarters, shortly before 5:42 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash, but all eastbound traffic was diverted through Exit 34B to North Americas Avenue.


By 8:23 a.m., more than two hours later, the roadway was reopened.

As of this writing, officials have not shared details on any potential injuries.
