Damages reported after vehicles hit by thrown rocks on I-10 near Clint

EL PASO COUNTY, TX — A 29-year-old Dallas man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly throwing rocks at vehicles on Interstate 10 near Clint, reports El Paso Times.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on the westbound lanes and was reported at around 12:00 a.m.

Details are limited at this time, but officials said the man is believed to have caused more than $12,000 in damages.

No one was reported injured in the event.

After a brief pursuit on foot, sheriff’s deputies took the man into custody. As of Thursday, he remains to be held at El Paso County Jail on bonds amounting to $14,500.

Officials said the suspect faces five counts of criminal mischief. Because of the property damage amount, three of those charges are state jail felonies.
