EL PASO, TX — According to KFOXTV, an SUV crashed and overturned into a home Wednesday night in northwest El Paso’s Polk neighborhood.
The incident was reported at 7025 Ramada Drive, off Resler Drive, shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Details remain limited at this time, but an early investigation indicates the homeowners were in the house when a white SUV struck, destroying at least one wall of the home and sending glass flying.
The two homeowners were not reported injured, but they noted the event marks the second time in 15 years that a vehicle has hit the house. A near-hit was reported just two weeks ago when a teenage driver hydroplaned around the corner of the home and collided with a tree.
It was unclear whether the driver of the SUV was hurt, but they received a citation for “failure to control speed.”
Photos taken at the scene show the SUV flipped onto its side and wedged against the front of the home.
A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the wrecked vehicle.
At this time, the extent of property damage has not been reported.
