Driver dies after vehicle hits trailer on I-10 in Hudspeth County

HUDSPETH COUNTY, TX — A 23-year-old El Paso man died Monday night after a crash with a flatbed trailer on Interstate 10 near Sierra Blanca, reports KTSM.

The fatal wreck occurred near mile marker 116, roughly 8 miles east of the city, at about 7:00 p.m.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the young man was driving westbound when he veered out of his lane and onto the shoulder, where his vehicle struck the flatbed trailer of a parked semi-truck. Officials said the semi had been waiting for roadside assistance at the time of the wreck.

The young man died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed the DPS.

The semi driver was not reported hurt.
