Narrative
EL PASO, TX – A 49-year-old woman died Sunday in a three-vehicle crash involving a semi along the interstate in southeast El Paso.
The accident happened around 1:20 a.m. on I-10 near Don Haskins Drive, which is southeast of Blackie Chesher Park.
Police say that a westbound 2022 Honda Accord collided with a westbound 2020 Chevrolet Malibu, causing the Honda to rear-end an 18-wheeler.
The driver of the Honda died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Sandy Almanza.
It’s unclear if the other two drivers sustained injuries in the accident.
Authorities say that alcohol and speed may have been factors in the collision.
