Elderly driver dies after two-car crash near east El Paso shopping center

EL PASO, TX — An 80-year-old man died Monday after a two-vehicle wreck while leaving a shopping center in east El Paso, according to KTSM.

The fatal accident occurred on Hunter Road, near Food City Ranchland, in the city’s Ranchland West neighborhood.

According to the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigators (STI), the man was behind the wheel of a 2000 Ford Taurus when he exited the parking lot of Food City and traveled into Hunter Road.

The driver of the Sentra was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the Taurus, 25, was not reported hurt.
