Heavy semi-truck fire reported on I-10 near east Fort Hancock

HUDSPETH COUNTY, TX — According to KVIA, a major semi-truck fire was reported Thursday morning off the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near east Fort Hancock.

The semi caught fire near mile marker 80, in the Madden Arroyo area. It was reported later the same day by KVIA at 5:15 p.m.

In footage captured by a witness, a Border Patrol officer is seen directing traffic at the scene. Motorists had to drive through heavy smoke as flames engulf the big rig beyond the right shoulder.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed information regarding the cause of the fire or any serious injuries.
