EL PASO, TX — According to KVIA, a 38-year-old man was fatally hit by a driver Sunday night while talking on his cell phone and crossing a street in west-central El Paso.
El Paso Police responded to the scene in the 1100 block of East Rio Grande Avenue.
Authorities said a 74-year-old woman was driving eastbound on the road when she struck the pedestrian, who had been in an unmarked crosswalk.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation remains in progress.
