Motorcyclist ejected, killed in crash on I-10 EB near Anthony

EL PASO COUNTY, TX — A 21-year-old El Paso man died early Sunday morning after a motorcycle accident on Interstate 10 near southeast Anthony, reports El Paso Times.

El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene on the eastbound lanes near mile marker 2 at around 4:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the young man was riding a motorcycle eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. His motorcycle then traveled off the interstate and lost control, causing the rider to eject.

Officials arrived to find the rider on the side of the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A section of the eastbound interstate was blocked during the response, forcing traffic to detour around the scene until Trans Mountain Road.

By 10:00 a.m., the scene had cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.

An investigation was underway.
