Motorcyclist fatally hurt in crash after driver turns in path near NW El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to CBS4Local, a 28-year-old man died Saturday morning after a motorcycle crash involving multiple vehicles near northwest El Paso.

El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded to the scene in the 3900 block of Doniphan Drive.

An early investigation indicates the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on the road near Sunland Park Boulevard when a Ford F-150 made a turn onto Doniphan from Sunland Park.

Officials said the pickup entered the motorcycle’s direct path, causing the motorcyclist to clip the front of the vehicle. That first crash caused the motorcyclist to strike a 2018 Lexus that was stopped at a red light. The second collision then caused the rider to eject from his bike and hit a 2019 Volkswagen behind the Lexus.

Medics rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he died. Investigators said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

An investigation remains in progress. No details regarding charges have been reported at this time.
