One dead, another injured after bus crashes into truck in El Paso

EL PASO, TX – A distracted driver caused a collision in El Paso on Saturday that left one person dead and another injured, Fox 14 reports. 

The accident happened after a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck stalled on US-54 in northeast El Paso. The driver of the truck put on his hazards but the bus driver behind them was looking at his phone and failed to see the stopped truck.

The collision resulted in the death of the pickup truck’s passenger. The truck’s driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The 52-year-old man driving the bus was arrested and charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
