One killed when RV and semi-truck crash in Fort Hancock

FORT HANCOCK, TX – A man from El Paso was killed and ten others were injured when an RV and semi-truck collided in Fort Hancock, the El Paso Times reports. 

The accident occurred on I-10 around 4 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The semi-truck was traveling west at unsafe speeds when the 24-year-old driver lost control.

The truck crashed through the center median and entered the eastbound traffic lanes where it struck the RV which was carrying ten people.

One of the RV’s passengers, a 36-year-old man, was killed in the crash. Nine others in the RV were hospitalized at University Medical Center of El Paso. Six of the victims sustained serious injuries.

No indication has been given as to whether the truck driver will face charges.
