Pedestrian fatally hit by car on N Mesa St in El Paso’s Upper Valley

EL PASO, TX — A 49-year-old man died last Friday, October 28, after being hit by a car while running across a road in El Paso’s Upper Valley, reports El Paso Times.

The fatal incident occurred on the 5700 block of North Mesa Street, in the city’s Mesa Hills neighborhood, at around 8:41 p.m.

A preliminary investigation by El Paso Police indicates the male pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk when he ran across the street. At one point, the victim entered the path of a southbound Kia Forte driven by a 23-year-old West Side resident and was struck, despite the driver’s attempt to avoid him.

The man died as a result of his injuries, confirmed authorities.
