Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by semi on I-10 in central El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to KFOX14, a pedestrian was critically hurt last Wednesday in a crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 10 near central El Paso.

El Paso Police responded to the scene on the westbound lanes at Geronimo Drive, near the Bassett Place shopping mall. The incident was first reported on June 22 at around 8:00 p.m.

The circumstances behind the crash remain unclear at this time, but authorities said a pedestrian was hit by a semi-truck.

Officials said the victim was seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital.

An XPO Logistics truck was seen on the side of the highway near the scene, though it was unclear whether it was the striking vehicle.

All westbound lanes at Geronimo Drive (Exit 24) were shut down during the response, creating a traffic backup to Airway Boulevard.

The department’s Special Traffic Investigators (STI) were requested at the site.
