UPDATE: Young woman dies after collision on Gateway N Blvd in NE El Paso

EL PASO, TX — According to CBS4Local, a 23-year-old Edinburgh, Texas woman died Monday morning after a two-vehicle wreck in far northeast El Paso.

The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Gateway North Boulevard and Stan Roberts Sr Avenue, at around 6:16 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the young woman was driving a 2012 Jeep Wrangler on Gateway North Boulevard at the same time a 71-year-old New Mexico driver in a Chevrolet Silverado was heading eastbound on Stan Roberts Sr Avenue. Officials said the driver of the Silverado approached Gateway North and failed to yield to traffic before entering the intersection. Moments later, the Silverado collided with the Wrangler.

It was unclear whether the driver of the Silverado or their 60-year-old female passenger were injured.

At this time, no pending charges or citations have been reported.
