Woman killed in hit-and-run crash while crossing NE El Paso road

EL PASO, TX — According to KTSM, a 48-year-old woman died Saturday night after a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in northeast El Paso’s Dolphin area.

The El Paso Police Department said officers responded to the scene in the 9500 block of McCombs Street on June 18, shortly after 10:05 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows the woman was crossing a dark area of the road when she was hit by a car. She was found to have not been using a crosswalk at the time.

Officials describe the vehicle as a maroon, four-door 2004-2014 Mitsubishi Galant. It should be missing a right-side mirror and have damage to its front-right corner.

A nearby surveillance camera captured the Galant speeding prior to the crash. The vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound on McCombs Street.

The EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigators is handling the case.

No further details have been made available at this time.
