DICKINSON, TX (GALVESTON COUNTY) – An 18-year-old crossing the street in Dickinson was fatally struck by a driver alleged to be under the influence on Thursday morning, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

The accident happened on State Highway 3, near 19th Street, just after 12 a.m., as an 18-year-old man was reportedly on his way home from work.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was struck by the driver of a Ford F-150, alleged to be 24-year-old Kelsey Carlson.

Carlson is said to have been under the influence at the time of the crash and is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated.

The area where the crash happened is reportedly not well-lit and has no sidewalks.
