Man dead, woman injured in Texas City crash when Lexus hydroplanes

TEXAS CITY, TX – A crash connected to slippery roadways in Texas City led to the death of a man and the injury of a woman on Tuesday, according to The Galveston County Daily News.

The accident happened in the 2600 block of FM 1764 at about 9:20 a.m. when the 41-year-old driver of a Lexus lost control of the car.

The driver hydroplaned and crossed over the center of the roadway, and into the path of oncoming traffic. The Lexus then collided head-on with a 2018 Hyundai.

The driver of the Lexus was unresponsive when medical personnel transported him to the hospital. There, he was declared dead.

The 25-year-old driver of the Hyundai was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical wounds.

Authorities have not released the identities of the drivers at this time.
