Man facing charges after crashing into church building in League City

LEAGUE CITY, TX – A man is facing charges after he crashed his SUV into another vehicle, and then into a church in League City last week, according to KHOU.

The accident occurred outside St. Mary’s Catholic Church, located at 1612 E. Walker Street, at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, when 28-year-old Victor Wooten was allegedly going through a school zone at a high rate of speed.

He tried to pull around a white SUV that was turning into the church, then struck the other vehicle’s front-left door.

Wooten swerved to the left, before going into a ditch. His vehicle, also a white SUV, came to a stop when it collided with a brick wall.

Wooten was taken into police custody on a charge of reckless driving. His bond was set at $1,500.

No injuries were reported in the accident.
