Man hurt after running red light and colliding with truck on FM 1765

TEXAS CITY, TX – A man was injured after he allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a truck in Texas City on Wednesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

The accident happened on 2099 FM 1765 Road (Texas Avenue), near 21st Street N, at 9:30 a.m., after the 28-year-old driver of a blue 2013 BMW ran a traffic light. The right side of his vehicle collided with the front-left end of a blue 2018 Mack truck being driven by a 39-year-old man from Indiana. A third vehicle may also have been involved, though no details on the automobile or its driver were released.

The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The truck driver was not reported as injured.
