DICKINSON, TX – Three people were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision on I-45 near Dickinson on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

The crash occurred on northbound I-45, near the exit for Holland Road, when the driver of a van crashed into the rear of another vehicle. This led to a chain-reaction crash that involved four other automobiles.

The driver of the van was briefly trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency crews. After being rescued, he was airlifted to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Two other people sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Police believe the van driver may have been speeding at the time of the crash, and plan on citing him for a misdemeanor charge of failing to control his speed.
