Two high-school girls hit by car while training for cross-country team

LEAGUE CITY, TX (GALVESTON COUNTY) – Two high-school girls were struck and injured by a car this morning while they were training for their school’s cross-country team, according to KTRK.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Lawrence Road and E League City Parkway at about 6:30 a.m. when the girls, 9th- and 10th-grade students, crossed in front of oncoming traffic near the high school and were hit by a car.

One of the students collided with the windshield of the vehicle during the collision.

Both of the students suffered non-critical wounds and were taken to the hospital in Clear Lake for treatment.

The collision is being investigated as an accident, and the driver is unlikely to face charges.
