Woman facing manslaughter charges after running red light in League City

LEAGUE CITY, TX – A man is dead and a woman is facing manslaughter charges after she reportedly ran a red light in League City this weekend, according to the Galveston County Daily News.

The accident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, at the intersection of FM 646 and W Walker Street, when 35-year-old League City woman Jaqueline Norton allegedly ran a red light.

Her vehicle collided with that of 57-year-old Dickinson man Rene Fuegos Diaz.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Norton reportedly was showing signs of being under the influence during the initial investigation, and a warrant was produced in order to test her blood alcohol content.

She has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and was taken to the Galveston County Jail on an $80,000 bond.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the collision at this time.
