HOUSTON, TX – At least one person was killed in an accident on the I-610 Loop in northeast Houston early Saturday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.

The accident occurred on the southbound I-610 Loop near Gellhorn Drive, before 3:30 a.m., when a single vehicle crashed.
At least one victim was confirmed dead as a result of the accident.
HPD closed the freeway in response to the crash.
The identity of the victim or victims and the cause of the accident were not immediately released.
