WESTFIELD, TX (HARRIS COUNTY) – At least two people were seriously injured after a driver ran a red light on FM 1960 Road early Friday morning, according to Captain John Shannon of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
A distracted driver Southbound on the north freeway feeder ran the red light at FM 1960 W. He was struck by an SUV causing critical injuries to both he and his passenger. Driver of the SUV was not seriously injured. District 1 units conducting the investigation. pic.twitter.com/c1hLWDJy2I

The crash occurred on FM 1960 and the North Freeway feeder road at about 1 a.m., when the driver of a silver sedan reportedly ran a red light while distracted. His vehicle then collided with an SUV and sustained significant front-end damage.
The passenger and the driver of the sedan sustained critical injuries in the accident.
The driver of the SUV was not seriously hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
