Driver facing charges after woman killed in Hwy 59 crash

HOUSTON, TX – A driver is facing intoxicated manslaughter charges after a crash Sunday night that led to a woman’s death.

According to FOX 26 Houston, the crash happened at about 11:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Highway 59 when the allegedly intoxicated driver of a pickup truck collided with a wall on the right side of the roadway.

The crash led to a female passenger being ejected from the vehicle. Authorities declared her dead at the site of the accident.

Officials say that the truck driver was intoxicated at the time and is facing charges of intoxicated manslaughter, though those charges are likely to be upgraded.

The victim and the suspect were not identified in the report.

No other injuries were reported.
