HOUSTON, TX – One person is dead as a result of a fiery, pursuit-related collision in northeast Houston last week, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened in the 4500 block of N McCarty Street at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, as the driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle was fleeing a police pursuit.
The driver collided with a pole, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
The victim died at the scene. Their identity was not immediately released.
