HOUSTON, TX – A woman fatally collided with an 18-wheeler truck after she ran a stop sign in a crash that also caused a fuel spill and a power outage in west Houston this evening, according to KTRK.
The accident occurred in the 1500 block of Brittmoore Rd at about 5:30 p.m. when the driver of a four-door sedan failed to stop at a stop sign.
The driver was then struck by an 18-wheeler truck which then collided with a utility pole. Another vehicle was also involved in the crash, though the specifics were not made clear in the report.
The driver of the sedan, who was not publicly identified, died of injuries sustained during the accident. No other injuries were immediately reported.
A fuel spill resulted from the crash, as did a power outage caused by the downing of the power pole.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
