Elderly woman dead after driver runs red light in East End

HOUSTON, TX – An elderly woman was killed in a collision in the East End last week after a driver ran a red light, according to KHOU.

The accident happened near 6902 Navigation Boulevard at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, when a woman, who may have been texting and driving, ran a red light.

She then collided with another vehicle.

A 74-year-old woman in that vehicle was taken to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, and authorities hope to use security footage in their efforts.
