HOUSTON, TX – One person died Thursday when a motorcycle and a semi collided at a busy intersection in western Houston.

The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. along the Katy Freeway at Wirt Road. This is near Hilshire Village.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the collision, and authorities have not yet named the victim publicly.

Officials encouraged drivers to avoid the area while crews attended to the victims and worked to clean up the wreckage.
