One person died early Sunday, December 11, after a rear-end collision on the outbound feeder road of Northwest Freeway in northwest Houston. The fatal wreck occurred at the intersection with Dacoma Street. Houston Police responded to the scene at around 12:57 a.m. According to investigators, a driver in a white pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed. As the pickup approached the intersection, it slammed into the back of a black Toyota Camry that was stopped at the light. A passenger who was sitting in the backseat of the Camry died from their injuries at the scene. The driver of the Camry and their front-seat passenger were not reported hurt. Following the crash, police arrested the driver of the pickup truck. An investigation into suspected impairment was underway.
