HARRIS COUNTY, TX — One person died Wednesday evening after a rear-end collision on the Beltway 8 in northeast Houston.
Officials said the fatal accident occurred on the eastbound lanes (Sam Houston Parkway) over U.S. Highway 90.
Few details have been shared, but for reasons still unknown, a silver Nissan became disabled in a travel lane before it was hit from behind by a dually pickup truck.
The driver of the Nissan died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed officials. Investigators say the victim may have suffered a medical episode just prior to the crash.
An investigation into the cause of the victim’s death remains underway. No charges have been reported at this time.
