Narrative
HOUSTON, TX — A man died Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Antoine Drive in northwest Houston.
Houston Police responded to the scene in the 4300 block of the road at about 9:37 a.m.
According to authorities, a driver in an eastbound Jeep was trying to turn onto northbound Antoine Drive at the same time a driver in a southbound sedan ran a red light at a high rate of speed. Moments later, the Jeep and sedan collided, sending the sedan off the roadway and into a tree.
Officers who arrived to find the sedan on fire were able to pull the driver out from the burning car, but the male driver died at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, who was not reported hurt, stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
An investigation was underway. At this time, authorities said they believe the deceased driver caused the fatal wreck.
