Narrative

HOUSTON, TX – One teen was killed and two others were rushed to the hospital following a serious single-vehicle crash in west Houston on Monday morning.

Witnesses told police a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling at a high rate of speed in the 14200 block of Briar Forest Drive at about 11:50 a.m. when the driver lost control. The vehicle skidded off the roadway and struck a tree.

Both the driver, 18, and a 17-year-old male passenger were airlifted by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. The driver succumbed to their injuries a short time later.

Another passenger, a 16-year-old girl, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Two additional occupants were reportedly unhurt.
