A woman died Wednesday evening, November 30, after being struck by a vehicle at a United States Postal Service office in southwest Houston. The fatal incident occurred in the 9200 block of Rogerdale Road at about 6:00 p.m. An early investigation shows an elderly female driver was driving into the parking lot of the post office when she mistook the gas pedal for the brake. Her vehicle then struck another woman who was walking into the post office. The female pedestrian died as a result of her injuries at the scene, confirmed officials. First responders transported the driver to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. An investigation remains underway, but authorities said intoxication is not a suspected factor.
