Narrative
HOUSTON, TX – Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal crash that occurred on the service road of 7000 Southwest Freeway at around 8:20 p.m. on Monday.
Investigators say the victim was walking on the sidewalk when a white Ford F-150 pickup truck attempted to make a right turn out of a private driveway. The truck struck the pedestrian and continued onto the feeder road without stopping.
The victim, an unidentified 45-year-old woman, died at the scene.
The driver, a 44-year-old male, promptly returned to the crash site. Subsequent investigation determined that he was not impaired.
