Man dies after being hit by speeding car in Acres Homes

HOUSTON, TX – A man standing on a curb died after being hit by a car in the Acres Homes area Monday night in a crash that reportedly involved speeding.

According to KHOU, the accident happened at West Little York and North Shepherd at about 11 p.m. when a man, who has yet to be publicly identified, was struck by a white Chevrolet Tahoe.

The Tahoe drove onto the curb after its driver lost control of the vehicle, and it collided with the victim, who was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

Authorities are questioning the driver of the vehicle and a passenger to determine if intoxicated driving played a part in the crash.

Officials reportedly know that the vehicle was driving at a high speed when the crash happened.

The occupants of the Tahoe have not been identified, and at this time, no charges have yet been filed.
