CROSBY, TX – The operator of an electric tricycle was killed after being hit by an allegedly speeding driver on FM 1942 Road in Crosby on Friday morning, according to KTRK.
The crash happened in the 3000 block of FM 1942 Rd at about 4 a.m., when a 24-year-old driver reportedly failed to control the speed of her vehicle. She crashed into the back of an electric tricycle, which was equipped with LED lights, being operated by a 57-year-old man.
The tricyclist died as a result.
The driver remained at the scene.
People living near the scene have said that drivers have been traveling faster than the posted 60 mph speed limit since the roadway was repaved in the area.
