Narrative
Two people died Tuesday night after a multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Interstate 45 near The Woodlands. The fatal wreck occurred on the northbound lanes near Exit 79B to State Highway 242. The Department of Public Safety said a northbound motorcyclist sped past a DPS state trooper who was on the interstate. As the motorcyclist tried to exit onto the feeder road, the bike was struck by a Lexus emerging from the parking lot of Metro Park Center. The rider ejected from the bike and was sent into a ditch. Officials confirmed that victim, a New Caney man, died at the scene. The motorcycle, which continued across the freeway, hit multiple other cars, causing a pileup. Two drivers in a Chevrolet Malibu and an Audi A4 tried to block the bike and conduct traffic control. Shortly after, a northbound Toyota Corolla hit all three vehicles. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 23-year-old Conroe resident, was also pronounced deceased at the scene. Medics transported the driver of the Toyota to an area hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Audi was not hurt in the crash.
