Pedestrian fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in Mt. Houston

MT. HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in north Harris County early Wednesday morning, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and KTRK.


The accident occurred near the intersection of the Eastex Freeway and E Mount Houston Road at about 5:40 a.m., when a man crossing the street was hit by the driver of what may have been a black Honda Civic.

The victim, who was crossing in a crosswalk, but supposedly while traffic had the go signal, was taken to the hospital. There, he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver fled the scene after colliding with the victim.

Authorities are intending to use security footage in their search for the suspect and vehicle. Their investigation continues at this time.
