Pedestrian fatally struck by pickup truck in N Houston hit-and-run

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in north Houston last night, according to Fox 26 Houston.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Thornton Road and N Shepherd Drive at about 10:40 p.m., when a man crossing the street was struck by the driver of a red-and-black pickup truck.

The driver fled the scene, and was last witnessed headed eastbound on Thornton Rd.

The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

Authorities continue to search for the driver and to investigate the collision.
