Pedestrian killed by alleged reckless driver in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Reckless driving allegedly contributed to the death of a woman in a fatal pedestrian accident in southeast Houston early this morning, according to KTRK.

The accident happened on Scott Street near the S Loop Freeway (I-610) at about 2:15 a.m. as a driver was pearforming donuts, then lost control of the vehicle, likely a green Ford pickup.

The victim, whose identity was not revealed in the report, was struck and killed while crossing the street.

The driver then left the scene of the crash despite witnesses believing that he did not intend to strike the woman.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
